Superior Car Parts, Inc. was formed by designer and developer Ron Grace and several Midwestern car guys when Girtz Industries recently spun off its car parts division, Antique Car Parts by Girtz. For more than four decades, the small Indiana manufacturer had built Top Irons that were used by most of the American hot rod body manufacturers, restoration shops, and the biggest-name hot rod builders.

Superior Car Parts, Inc. custom manufactures replacement convertible Top Irons for late Model Ford cars. Each Top Iron is handcrafted from stainless steel or hot rolled steel. The Top Irons come in stock configuration or various chopped versions as well. The finished Top Iron is either polished stainless steel or painted. All Top Irons manufactured by SCPI are fully functional folding Top Irons.

SCPI also specializes in the manufacturing of custom Top Irons and stanchion posts for cars other than Ford. SCPI has manufactured Top Irons for a 1933 Chrysler Cabriolet and is in the process of manufacturing a set of Top Irons for a 1934 Buick Roadster.

Wood cross bows are available as well.

The finished stanchion posts come in stock height or various chopped heights. Finished stanchion posts are either polished stainless steel or painted.
